Từ Emmanuel hay Immanuel mang ý nghĩa gì trong Kinh Thánh?
Trong Mùa Giáng Sinh, chúng ta nghe nhiều lần tên “Emmanuel” được đề cập tới trong tường thuật Kinh Thánh về việc Chúa Giêsu Kitô giáng sinh.
Xin đan cử những câu trong Kinh Thánh nói về “Emmanuel”:
Tên Emmanuel ban đầu xuất hiện trong sấm ngôn sách Tiên Tri Isaia về Đấng Messia, tức Đấng Thiên Sai như sau: “Vì thế chính Thiên Chúa sẽ ban cho ông một dấu chỉ: Kìa! một thiếu nữ mang thai sinh một con trai và đặt tên là Immanuel (Isaia 7:14). Đoạn Kinh Thánh trên đã được trưng dẫn trong Phúc Âm Thánh Matthêu. Một Thiên Thần Chúa hiện ra với Giuse trong giấc mơ và bảo “ Giuse, con David, dừng lo lắng gì cả, hãy lấy Maria làm vợ, vì thai nhi mà cô ấy đang mang là do Chúa Thánh Thần. Cô ấy đang cưu mang một con trai, và anh sẽ đặt tên con trẻ ấy là Giêsu, vì Ngài sẽ cứu dân Ngài khỏi tội.” Tất cả những điều trên ứng nghiệm trọn vẹn những gì đã được tiên báo qua các tiên tri: “Này kìa, một trinh nữ sẽ thụ thai, sinh con trai vả người ta sẽ đặt tên là Emmanuel, có nghĩa là Thiên Chúa ở cùng chúng ta” (Matt. 1:20-23)

What does Emmanuel (or Immanuel) mean in the Bible?
We hear the name “Emmanuel” often during the Christmas season because of the number of times it is mentioned in the Biblical narratives about Jesus Christ’s birth.
Here are the Emmanuel Bible verses:
The name originally appears in a prophecy in the Book of Isaiah about the Messiah: “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14)
This passage is quoted in the Gospel of Matthew. An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said: “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.’
All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet: ‘Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,’ which means, ‘God is with us.'” (Matthew 1:20-23)

The Hebrew name Emmanuel means “God is with us.”
Immanu’el is:

Why is the name Emmanuel important? The meaning for us is profound. Jesus is more than a king. He is more than a hero. Jesus is God. God became man and dwelt among us.
